About our teachers
I'm Brianna Hammons, and I am an instructor of piano and voice. I have been teaching since 2015, and have dedicated my career to guiding musicians of all ages and backgrounds along their path to musicianship.
I have been a pianist for the last 18 years, and have been a vocalist for the past 15, studying under wonderful mentors who have inspired the same love of music I hope to share with my students. I studied music extensively during my intermediate and high school years, and continued as a music composition major at Fresno City College, and will be transferring my studies to Fresno State to complete my bachelor's, and eventually my masters degree. My studies included music pedagogy, music history, and music theory, my favorite emphasis to push during my music lessons with students. I also specialize in music technology and production, allowing me to make custom sheet music for students if they decide to venture into composition.
I am able to teach beginners at any age, but my specialty is working with the virtuoso pianist who searches for more challenging repertoire and techniques.
Associate teacher
Nevaeh Gibbs has been a student of mine since she was a freshman in high school, and is now beginning her senior year of high school! She has studied piano prior to my inheritance of her as my student, and has demonstrated excellent technical and performance abilities across the many recitals she's performed in, with challenging repertoire spanning Debussy, Poulenc, along with more modern performances, such as the motion picture La La Land.
Nevaeh began her training to be an apprentice teacher last year, and has already started accepting students. She specializes in teaching beginners and early intermediate levels.
"Not only is Nevaeh a patient and kind instructor, but she is also extremely knowledgable with her craft. My daughter deals with anxiety from time to time, and the connection she has with Nevaeh helps her feel at ease. We enjoy the convenience of her coming to our home, as well as seeing her friendly face on a weekly basis. We are all excited to be on this learning journey with such an amazing person."
